The 2019 Kia Cerato (Forte) GT Hatch is a sporty fast and low slung car, but can it make a good BabyDrive? Let's find out...
Well, I'd better tell you it got a lot of attention which I was not prepared for! But then it is a very sporty and good looking car! I drove the Kia Cerato Sports sedan model a few weeks earlier which was nowhere near as good looking or as good fun to drive as the GT Hatch.
Let's start off with the practicalities; it will fit two child seats in the back and I could not sit between the two child seats. The child seats are quite easy to install once you have got them through the doorways but the low roofline makes it tight to post the large car seats in!
Two forward or rear facing car seats fitted and we could sit a 180cm passenger in the driver's seat in front.
There are ISOFix points in the two outer seats and top tether anchorages on the back of all three rear seat backs and these were easy to reach and fasten across the boot.
For a sporty hatch, the boot size is pretty impressive! Holding eleven shopping bags, when empty, all sizes of strollers up to double and twin all fitted in the boot with the parcel shelf in place and a few shopping bags. The Cerato GT Hatch holds four less shopping bags than the Kia Cerato Sedan and one more than the Kia Cerato Sport and one more than the Hyundai i30 Fastback N.
