I used to use a pencil cut down to just the lead or masonry nails to mark through thick or deep material. Well thats long gone after an internet search. I now have a great selection of markers for both metal and wood. Take a look at the video and you will see what I have found. I was especially impressed with the dye marking "Marxman" propellant markers.
