Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed God. Hindu people decorate their homes with flower garlands and rangoli. People bring idols of Lord Ganesh to their homes and do worship and on the last day of the festival the idols are taken out in a colorful and musical procession and immersed traditionally in water. Devotees can be seen taking the idol of Lord Ganesha in a mini truck with Dhol in New Delhi. One can see the people dance to the beat of Dhol in celebration.
