Singer Entertainer William Silk replies to Sir Paul McCartney's momentous performance of the World famous Beatles song "Hey Jude" at the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony with his version of "Hey Jude", performed with big band at an open air event in Nagoya 29th July 2012, the very next day after the Sir Paul performed it at the Olympics in London.
William Silk says he caught a bit of the opening ceremony on Japanese TV as he was going out the door to head for this performance in Nagoya OASIS.
"It felt so special watching Paul at the opening ceremony. Incredible event. There he is, Paul McCartney, still with us after all these years and in fine voice, performing perhaps his biggest stage ever. It was really a once in a lifetime sense of occasion. It got me very excited about performing that same song the next day on the other side of the World."
So William dedicated his performance of the song to all the athletes, everyone participating in the London 2012 Olympic Games and beseeched the audience there in Japan to sing together with him to answer Sir Paul McCartney's unforgettable performance the previous evening in the 2012 London Olympics Stadium.
