In my 4 Foods to Help You Sleep video, sesame seeds were recommended as they are high in the essential amino acid tryptophan.
Tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, which is the neurotransmitter involved in sleep.
Sesame seeds are packed full of:
- Fiber
- B vitamins
- Magnesium
- Zinc
They’ve also been shown to help lower blood pressure. Although you wouldn’t typically throwback a handful of sesame seeds, you can add them to your salads or grind them up to make tahini, and add it to your meats and vegetables.
