Ebenezer & Seppeltsfield is a brand marketed by the English retailer Marks & Spencer. Equivalent to Costco's Kirkland brand of wines where they use other wineries grapes and bottle under their own brand.
The brand is named after 2 regions in the Barossa Valley where the grapes come from.
For the 2015 vintage, the grapes came from Chateau Tanunda, a 130. year old winery which was purchased by the Gerber family in 1998. Up to 2012, St. Hallett had been supply the grapes and starting with the 2017 vintage, Langmeil has been supply the grapes.
It is meant to be a pop and open, entry level wine just like Trader Joe's wines. To be fair to my friend who brought me wine while I was in quarantine, he knows nothing about wines and some of the wines he provided to me might have been gifted to him.
Price of the current vintage this wine on the Marks & Spencer website is 14 pounds so around $21 CDN
