Caution and Warnings
Be careful with a drill, fast heavy, use smaller rotary tool
Protect your eyes
No soldering needed for this build - besides batteries
Keep your workspace clean and organized, don't accidentally drop a screw!
3 Body Modification - Rear Case
Remove metal plate (save screws)
Remove wall under metal plate
Remove (+) shape piece in back housing
trim 'ridge' in middle of back housing
Battery Compartment divider ridge on end and middle
Additional Modifications for 'Discount Batteries' - slightly longer
Enlarge openings for usb charging port, USB, HDMI, and SD card
4 Body Modification - Front Case
X Y Button Holes
LCD - use display as guide.
Remove wall by A/B Buttons
-small horizontal tab - try to keep some in place Right shoulder
Remove wall around speaker and bottom little corners on both sides
- Small tab(s) on LCD display sides can be trimmed for fit (hint)
- small ridge around dpad side and bottom, such that lcd lays flat
Shoulder buttons - side angle tabs
Shoulder Button mods - trim inside edge around
5 Battery Wiring- dont mess this up
Wire Batteries in Parallel, attach to JST connector
6 Assemble Face -
Insert Buttons and rubber conductors
On/Off switch, cut off nub in middle so it slides smooth
- momentary soft spring switch
Connect Display - ribbon on button side, fingers up
Minor tweaks Fitting Display
remove plastic cover on LCD
Light pipe for LEDs from board to face
Attach ribbon cable to Circuit Board
Fit circuit board into place (tweaks as needed)
Screw board to face housing (middle row of screw holes)
use short screws taken from metal piece
** Power on at this point - Ideal to know if system is working!
Install wall buffers
Install slide switch
7 Assemble Back
Squeeze together and check fit
modify if needed, nothing should be too tight - volume wheel
8 Screw it together

9 Clean and attach display cover
