After going under in early 2020, Flybe has been restored and is now flying again with the classic Dash 8 turboprops. I decided to fly with them on a short hop to Belfast, and it was quite a great experience
Starting off at Birmingham Airport, we headed out on Runway 33 with some stunning morning lighting over the Birmingham conurbation. We then headed across the Irish sea with views over the Isle Of Man before descending and beginning a fairly overcast approach into Belfast City.
Flybe were great, the crew were happy, nice comfy seats too, one difference from the old Flybe is that they now offer complimentary drinks and snacks which is always a good bonus! Sadly though this flight was far from full, I counted 12 passengers on this service. The Dash 8 Q400 holds 78 passengers so this wasn't a good statement. Hopefully this was just an anomaly. I definitely wish the airline luck and look forward to seeing their future
After this flight I then flew from Belfast to Edinburgh onboard Emerald Airlines, operating for Aer Lingus Regional on an AT76. I then flew back from Edinburgh to London Luton on an Easyjet A320
