(23 Aug 2015) Footage filmed by AP Television on Saturday showed fierce fighting on the frontline in Ukraine between the military and pro-Russian separatists.
Tensions have risen in recent days ahead of Ukrainian Independence Day on Monday with both sides accusing each other of escalation.
"They say that they are preparing for our attack, we are preparing for their attack, so there is an escalation," said Ukrainian army platoon commander Serhiy Maslyuk.
Fighting between the two sides has often taken place at night but recently fierce gun battles have been fought during the day.
