Over the last 5 years I've been doing a bit of a test to see how quickly normal screws rust. Is it worth spending extra money on stainless steel screws and the like for outdoor use? Over the years I've seen a lot of screws specifically designed for outdoor use that have rusted to hell. At the same time my bog standard Screwfix woodscrews seem to be just fine outdoors.
