The Recent Looming Vote of No confidence against Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister, James marape was denied at the at the floor of the Parliament in 22nd of February 2024.
The Acting speaker of Papua New Guinea Parliament, Koni Iguan in advising the parliament during the sitting said,
‘’ The Private Business committee deliberated on the motion yesterday at 12:30pm at Speaker’s lounge after the notice was given by 14th February and the committee is of the view that this motion will not be placed in the notice board’’.
The Motion provoked the opposition Members and Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah to raise the point of order and asked for the reason.
Acting speaker was adamant and said he made the ruling clear and they will make it clear in the due course the reasons behind the decision by the committee.
Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah, go on to the Media and said, Prime Minister Hijacked the Vote of no confidence and those liable for Hijacking the process will be held accountable when he and the opposition brought the matter to court.
