Hey everybody! In today's lesson, I'm going to show you how to play "Bang A Gong (Get It On)" by T.Rex. This is another simple three chord strummer. In fact, it's one of the easiest songs you could play on guitar!

The lesson begins with the chord shapes: E, A, G. For the most part we're going back and forth between E and A, so I'll give you a couple options, going over the most efficient switch between those two chords. We also practice switching from G to A.
Once we've worked out the switching, we play all the chords in order using downstrokes only.
The strumming pattern is very basic. There is a little bit of syncopation - a "miss" on beat four. We discuss the best way to handle that, the best way to feel this pattern and get it up to speed before putting it together with our chord progression.
Finally we discuss what it takes to play through the entire recording. I've written out the form here as well for your convenience:
