Chaltar Achar / Elephant Apple Pickle will remind our childhood (in front school roadside pickle vendor used to must have this pickle). Elephant Apple is known as Ou tenga in Assamese and Chalta in Bengali. It's scientific name is Dillenia Indica. Elephant apple is sour in taste and very native to Assamese and Bengali cuisine . Sweet, Spicy and tangy pickle can be made easily from elephant apple. It can also be consumed as raw by making a raw elephant apple chutney.

Chalta/ Elephant Apple : 2
Turmeric Powder : 1 TSP
Bhaja Masala : 3- 4 TSP (For Bhaja Masala recipe Check out my chaat recipes)
Red Chilli Powder - 2-3 TSP
Jaggery : 1 - 2 Cup (as per taste)
Black salt 1 TSP
Vinegar 1 - 2 TSP
Salt as per taste
Water
