In Burundi, this video focuses on #EconomicIndependence and the important messages we can learn from the life of Khadijah (RA) and her life as a businesswoman.

This is an initiative of the Alliance of Inclusive Muslims in support of UN Women's Generation Equality Action Coalition for Bodily Autonomy and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. The key point of this project is to highlight that without the girl's and women's rights to their own bodies, they will be deprived of education, and therefore economic independence. And unless women have economic independence, they will never have any say in society.

By publishing the important work of these organizations, we hope to bring awareness to the importance of girls' education, especially reproductive health, sexual education, reproductive rights, and economic empowerment, as a mechanism for gender equality and economic independence.

We hope you join us in promoting the fact that women’s economic independence as a means to achieving gender equality and economic empowerment is hinged on women’s reproductive justice.
