I wanted to check how much the spindle moved when a force was applied to it radially and axially. Also if tightening the spindle bearing preload on the rear pair that functions as a thrust bearing would lower the axial play (end-float). It didn't and stayed at 3-4/100 mm. Same with the radial play, if a stuck front bearing, ie. spindle drawn in solid to the bronze bearing would affect the radial play.. Not much, and the play that get then is probably be due to the "test method", but in normal configuration, ie. the per manual specified 15 degrees of "freedom of movement" gives a clearance of about 1-2/100 mm
