On August 16, the United States successfully tested the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The rocket flew over 6,000 km along the given coordinates.
"The tests demonstrated the readiness of the US nuclear forces and instilled confidence in the lethality and effectiveness of national nuclear deterrents."
That's what the Pentagon said in a statement.
In the past, the US has been wise to delay testing this missile several times to avoid escalating military rhetoric with Russia and China.
What is a Minuteman III missile?
The Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles are manufactured by Boeing. They are designed to carry nuclear weapons and are a key element of the strategic nuclear arsenal of the United States.
The range of such a missile reaches about 13 thousand kilometers, and the maximum speed is about 24 thousand kilometers per hour. This is enough to strike anywhere in Russia or China within 15 minutes.
Missiles are launched from underground mines controlled by launch crews.
The US has over 450 such missiles, guaranteeing a nuclear apocalypse to anyone who dares to start first.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, nuclear deterrence has gained new urgency worldwide.
Russia has threatened to use tactical nuclear weapons since the beginning of the conflict, and on Russian television, these threats are still pouring in.
China began to increase its nuclear arsenal.
Iran is also trying hard to get nuclear weapons.
Nor does Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, stop rattling nuclear weapons.
Militant rhetoric is growing all over the world, and a new arms race is beginning.
And in such a world, the United States and its allies in a democracy must have the highest quality nuclear weapons, at least until the world finally finds a way to get rid of them.
The Minuteman III missile gives the United States a clear advantage over Russia and China, as its claimed characteristics correspond to reality.
At the same time, we know that the Russians often lie about their weapons, attributing inflated characteristics to them. Although their Sarmat missile has passed several successful tests, it is still under development. And the old missiles Satana and Voyevoda can no longer carry out combat duty.
It is not yet fully known that the Sarmat missile can actually fly 16,000 km at a speed of 27 Mach, which is 33 thousand kilometers per hour, as the Russians claimed.
Surely, the exact characteristics of the Sarmat missile are known to American intelligence.
Military experts have many doubts about the combat status of Russian nuclear missiles and warheads in general.
The fact is that they need constant modernization and maintenance, and this is very, very expensive. And also, the ubiquitous Russian corruption can prevent this.
Let's hope that the world has enough wisdom not to start a nuclear apocalypse, and you can watch my other videos in the meantime.
