In this video, Mark demonstrates how to remove the factory bumper from a Toyota Land Cruiser (or LX470) and how to install the Big Slack Off-Road hidden winch mount. The mount features a zero-cut design with mounting locations for the OEM Toyota bumper. Some drilling is required as specified in the video. Slight modifications are required to the factory bumper to fit a fairlead or rollers.
The mount grasps the frame on either side, stabilizing a pull of up to 12,000 lbs in all directions. Recoveries rarely take place in a controlled environment and often require a partial or complete sideways pull. Our winch mount was engineered with this in mind spreading the load across the frame, crossmember, and the mount itself all while fitting easily inside the factory bumper for a polished, OEM look.
