Through the generous support of the Paleontological Society and BLM, NHMU worked to create a short, 3 part video series with a focus on helping under-served 4th grade classes connect with real paleontologists from the Natural History Museum of Utah. After viewing each of the three parts (Fieldwork, Fossil Prep Lab, and Collections and Research) in their classes, kids then had the opportunity to Skype with one of the paleontologists from the comfort of their classroom. Finally, after viewing the videos, and Skyping with our excellent Paleo staff, kids from the selected schools made a visit to the museum greeted by our "Science Stars!" Part of this onsite visit included very special behind-the-scenes tours of the prep lab and collections areas.
