How do you start a wedding ceremony? Advice from officiant of 12 years, Shawn Miller from Young Hip & Married!
Are you getting married or officiating a wedding this year? If so, there are some things you need to know to ensure you have the best wedding ceremony ever.
START A WEDDING CEREMONY WITH:
1) Introduction: Before you begin the ceremony, it's important to introduce yourself. Remember, this is about the couple and their big day, so keep it brief.
2) Housekeeping Announcements: Make any necessary house announcements, such as reminding guests to turn off their phones before the ceremony starts.
3) Get Guests Involved: I encourage guests to cheer and clap for the couple and to feel free to be themselves during the ceremony.
4) The Countdown: To kick things off in the most celebratory way possible, I have everyone count down from 3 to 1 and shout, "Let the wedding begin!"
Starting a ceremony with a little excitement and enthusiasm greatly impacts the energy and tone of the wedding. It's all in the details, and the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. Give it a try at your wedding or the wedding you're officiating, and let me know how it works for you!
