This video series shows you how to setup your HP Reverb G2 Virtual Reality Headset on your PC and play games with Stream VR and other standalone games.
In Part 1:
1) I connect the headset to my PC and get it configured
2) Get Steam VR working
3) I show "through the lens" video using a GoPro6.
I've used a VR headset in a science museum a few times, but this is my first headset for my home computer.
I have a custom built (by me) PC powered by:
1) ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X CODE Motherboard
2) Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core LGA 1151 Processor
3) EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 HYBRID Graphics Card
I normally use a ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27" Monitor to play my games on my PC, but some games like driving games and flight/space simulators are much better if you can move your head around and see in different directions.
In the past I've used the Track IR 5 head tracking device for these types of games:

But it's kind of a pain to use. You have to keep your head very still most of the time.
It's still a lot better than just a static screen, but with the new HP Reverb G2, I felt the time had come to upgrade.
I wear glasses, so it will be interesting to see how my experience is affected by that.
