The shepherds of Spain's Pyrenees have their own language, culture and concerns. They spoke to Al Jazeera about their views on Catalonia and Catalan independence.
The Spanish government has called a snap election in the northwest Catalonia region for December 21.
The vote follows government leaders in Madrid imposing direct rule on the region, which is threatening to break away after a secession referendum.
But 10,000 people living in a remote valley high in the mountains between Catalonia and France do not feel affinity to Catalonia and have little time for the Catalan independence movement.
