This video shows you how to test an EV charge point RCD trip time using the EV100 from Seaward.
There are two options when testing an EVSE RCD using the Seaward EV100. The first is the single trip test at rated current, the second is an RCD test sequence at half rated current, rated current and five times rated current.
To test an EVSE RCD using a single trip test at rated current:
1. First, press ON/OFF key to turn on the unit
2. Using the Auto key, select ‘Cable’ from the list.
3. Connect the required test adaptor to the EV100.
4. Plug the test adaptor into the EVSE under test.
5. Press the RCD key once to begin the RCD test.
The EV100 will now turn on the EVSE and then trip the RCD. The trip time is shown on the display.
When the test sequence is complete the NFC icon will appear on screen to show that data is available.
Comprehensive data can be transferred to an Android device which has EVSEMobile installed.

The EV100 will then perform a rated current test at zero degrees which will trip the RCD. The display will show the trip time and “RESET.”
6. Reset the RCD and press the RCD key on the EV100 to continue.
The EV100 will now perform a rated current test at 180° which will trip the RCD. The LCD will show the trip time and “RESET.”
7. As before, reset the RCD, and press the RCD key to continue.
The EV100 will then perform a 5 x rated current test at 0° which will trip the RCD. The LCD will show the trip time and “RESET.”
8. Reset the RCD one last time and leave the EVSE in an operational state.
When the test sequence is complete the NFC icon will appear on screen to show that data is available.
