RINGWEAR Shelving and storing vinyl records…
Ring-wear is avoidable! Ring-wear is the circular
marks that appear on the jackets of your records.
It primarily occurs when there is weight or
pressure that is applied to a record when the vinyl
is inside. The most common cause is when your
records are stacked on top of each other in a
horizontal position for a long period of time.
Another cause is when your vinyl is packed on a
shelf or in a box too tightly. Dino is correct when
he tells you to store your records loosely on the
shelf. A good test is to see if you can easily
remove the albums when choosing one. If you feel
friction, or have difficulty removing it, you
probably will have some ring wear damage over
time. Little V's man...Little V's. ☮️
