With The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It continuing Ed and Lorraine Warren's paranormal adventures through the Conjuring-verse, it's time to take a look back at the original James Wan film that started it all. The Conjuring hit theaters in 2013 and scared the pants off of horror movie fans around the world with a mix of supernatural scares, a horrifying haunted house and a dash of "based on a true story" credibility. Before you check out the third film in the franchise, here are 7 Things You Didn't Know About The Conjuring... probably.
The production of film was unsurprisingly almost as spooky as the film itself, with eerie circumstances around everything from Vera Farmiga initially getting the role, to Catholic priests in the Philippines and the real life Warrens feeling a presence on set. Behind the scenes of this story of demons, possession and exorcism, the cast and crew dealt with trees that weren't scary enough and stand-in frightening farmhouses that lead to lawsuits against Warner Bros. The Conjuring might have been as scary off screen as it was on screen.
It should also be noted that moving forward we'll do nothing but thumbnails where Patrick Wilson is standing in front of something he can't see.
This episode was written by Max Scoville and edited by Tim Weinell.
