This is the original version of the audio used in roughly the first half of the Africa room in "its a small world" at Disneyland. This audio features the Egypt and Camel Drums audio tracks from the original 1964 soundtrack mixed together. This audio was probably initially used from 1964 until roughly 1973. Although the other two audio tracks were used until 1993, in roughly 1976 they added the main theme instrumentals throughout most of the ride unlike what you hear here. Even though there are no known recordings of this initial version, there are recordings of the c.1976-1993 version, and in those you can clearly hear these two tracks as well as the main theme insturmentals. The other reason I think this audio was used for the first decade is because very similar audio was also used when the original soundtrack was restored and remastered in 2003, and that audio continues to play to this day. The only difference is that since the Laughing Nigerians were removed in 1973, the hyenas have been moved closer to this part of the room, and since then you can hear their laughing sound effect. This is because when the original masters were restored in 2003, and through 2007, much of the ride sounded very much like it did in 1966, and while there are no known live recordings of this particular scene from between 1966 and the mid-80's, there is the amazing 1970 sound film by btm0815ma, which even though it didn't show this particular scene, it did show most other major scenes, and confirmed what the original ride probably sounded like, for the most part very much like the 2003-07 version. And thankfully, unlike many of the other areas throughout the ride, this was one of the very few in which they did not poison the original message of the ride by adding Disney characters in the 2008-09 refurbishment. Despite that, in this remade and extended video, I used very similar audio and the same image as the previous version, however I used a newer, higher quality scan of the image and also added a light overlay of the African Wildlife and Laughing Nigerians tracks. Although the latter was removed in 1973, the former still plays to this day, despite being removed from 1993 until 2003. I hope you enjoy this classic audio.
