To celebrate my 50th birthday my husband and I hiked the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim. We started at approximately 3:45am and finished around 4:00pm on June 2, 2022. Weather at the start was around 40 degrees and quickly went up. At Phantom Ranch it was 95 degrees at 9:30am. With 4 miles to go up Bright Angel trail the thermometer said 102 degrees. It was an amazing experience and so thankful we did it. I would do this again but I would choose not to do it in June. Bright Angel trail has endless switchbacks and ZERO shade. Prepare and you will be fine!
