The monument to the Russian Empress Catherine II in Odessa causes a lot of controversy among Ukrainians, especially after the Russian invasion, which is why the statue is often vandalized with red paint.
But today the statue drew particular attention to pedestrians and the media, since in addition to the usual graffiti at its base, she was dressed in a red executioner's hood and a pitchfork in her hand.
