For YEARS I have wondered how people get their cakes so perfectly straight until I discovered acrylic discs. This little tool is an absolute cake game changer and makes any wonky cake perfectly straight! Acrylic discs allow you to get your bench scraper completely vertical which means that you get a perfectly smooth, straight cake every time.
A few little guides if you are going to buy your own acrylic discs:
I buy my acrylic discs so that they are .5" larger than my cake. So for a 7" cake, I use a 7.5" acrylic disc. This gives me /25" of frosting each side. If you want a little less then go for a 7.4" or 7.3".
I got mine from a company called Simply Plastics but if you google 'Custom Acrylic Discs' there will be lots of plastic suppliers you can use!
