We've all seen it. Dudes on Instagram posting the latest and greatest gear, flexing on the poors with kit that would be at home in any (XYZ) SOF ready room. But how many of us are actually fit enough to effectively put any of that gear to any actual use?

Ohh you built out RECCE kit? How are you going to RECCE anything if you fell out during infil?

Your new chest rig can carry a combat loads + of ammo? How fast can you move in that?

What happens if your buddy is wounded? Can you carry him/her to safety?

Ohh you think your ruck is heavy? Here's 600 more rounds for the machine gun (were dispersing it throughout the squad).

These are all things a infantryman needs to consider, as it is what is expected of them to perform on any given mission.

Actual combat operations are a very physical affair, and requires a level of fitness most are not ready for if called to do.

Today I'll be talking about how I've kept myself in shape over the years, from when I was in the military as a Infantryman in the 75th Ranger Regiment, to what I'm doing now as a professional LARPer/prepared citizen.
