Several thousand Russian nationalists have taken to the streets of Moscow to celebrate Unity Day.
Carrying imperial flags the crowd chanted slogans condemning migrants from the former Soviet Central Asian Republics and non-Slavs from the Russian Caucasus region: "We came to the Russian march to show that Russian people exist, that nobody can ban us from anything, that nobody can break the spirit of a Russian man. We will get justice and the Caucasian population will get out of here! All of these immigrants will simply leave, and that's all," said one flag-waving protester.
Hardline nationalists have tended to hijack the Unity Day holiday, which replaced commemorations of the Bolshevik Revolution in 2005.
The rally comes three weeks after a mob attacked a vegetable warehouse on the hunt for a man believed to have killed an ethnic Russian.
Police rounded up 1,000 immigrants following the disturbance, which many claim was state sanctioned.
