Do you let your playing just FFFLLLLOW? Here's Stan Bicknell in Papamoa, New Zealand with his method for working through his concepts. He says, "I’m genuinely obsessed. The aim, for me, is to work through my concepts to the point where executing them is MINDLESSLY effortless. Where the conscious brain no longer enters the conversation, it’s just pure expression. And I’m not concerned how long this takes.
'Learn the rules to break them', I love that quote.
I explain this to my students all the time, that being ‘good’ at something is not good enough, it needs to be drilled in so deep that the subconscious has taken over. Full control, flow, dynamics, fluidity, and pure expression!!!"
