This is second chapter of Sir Walter Scott’s second book in the Tales of my Landlord series.

Set in the latter part of the 17th century in Scotland, this was a particularly turbulent time in British History, culminating in the English Civil War. Set shortly after the restoration of the House of Stuart, this novel – through the titular character – relates tales of the tensions between the Covenanters and Royalists of Scotland.
