*Booked the hotel via Expedia and flights directly through Volaris. I did not receive any incentive from the hotel to post/make this video but wanted to share my experience -Ben*
I spent 6 days at the all inclusive resort. Here are my thoughts in order of topic: covid caution, the room, Beach/ocean, food, activities, demographic/people I met and overall vibe.
Covid caution: all of the employees wear masks the entire time. The only exception was activities coordinators who asked permission from guests first and then removed their mask while participating in the kayaking tour or volleyball. The hotel includes a complimentary covid-19 test towards the end of the stay to have proof of negative test results for travellers who need it to get back home. They also offer a $35 covid insurance policy upon checkin. If you test positive and need to quarantine they’ll house you in your room with room service for just $2 a day.
The room: our room was on the 3rd floor. The view was beautiful but the ocean was loud. The waves are brutal at night but the hum of the air conditioners helps balance it out. If you’re sensitive to noise when sleeping ask for a higher room or bring ear plugs and sleeping pills. Room has a nice dual vanity bathroom, stocked mini bar and a tv. There is a small coffee table and one chair but nothing to work on if you’re thinking of taking meetings while working remotely here. Beach/ocean: the water is magnificently warm (coming from a Californian). The waves are a bit on the strong side and not ideal for children or novice swimmers but they’re fun to body surf and float on. The beach itself has plenty of room for relaxing, playing volleyball or throwing a football around. There are lounge chairs all over the beach with umbrella coverage.
Food: the Asian restaurant, Pureza is by far the best. The staff was A+ always being proactive, remembering our orders and going above our expectations such as writing “have a great trip” on the dessert tray the night before we left. It’s the little things that make a huge difference. The Italian restaurant was second best in my mind followed by the steakhouse and the buffet. All of the food was good, some of the food was great.
Activities: beach volleyball was fun everyday. The activities center team: Daniel, Omar and Julia would join if we ever needed an additional player. Zumba in the pool and on the beach was very fun and dozens of people joined in. Everybody felt welcome. At night they had a show every evening. A fire show, dance performance show, salsa dance show and karaoke nights (which are even more hilarious if your best friend gets a bit tipsy from Jack Daniels). There is also a full gym on the second floor if you want a good workout. The lobby houses a sports bar with about 12 screens including a huge approximately 14 foot wide screen always having a game, right or race on. We saw a lot of Kansas City Chiefs fans there.
The people: Tons of the people were here for weddings. There were 4 weddings in the 6 days we were here. I met people from: Canada, Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Mexico City. Most of the guests were from America with a minority from Mexico. Everyone was friendly and courteous. Overall vibe: As a family this was a great resort. The kids always had something to do, adults were taken care of and we found no reason to leave the resort. Overall would come again!
