On 1st April 2017, The Government approach to the Inspection process changed for all Children’s Residential Care Settings Including,

• children’s homes, including secure children’s homes
• independent fostering agencies
• boarding schools and residential special schools
• voluntary adoption agencies
• adoption support agencies
• residential family centres
• residential holiday schemes for disabled children
• residential provision in further education colleges

All of the above will be Inspected by Ofsted under a common inspection framework entitled the Social Care Common Inspection Framework. (SCCIF)
