Early on June 25, 2007 -- some 14 hours before the bodies of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their 7-year-old son Daniel were discovered -- a wrestling fan edited Benoit's biography at Wikipedia to assert that he had missed a wrestling show the night before because of "the death of his wife Nancy." This caused a media frenzy. The edit was traced to a 19-year-old wrestling fan who lived in Stamford, Connecticut -- the headquarters city of World Wrestling Entertainment. This is the first of three parts of the interrogation of the fan, Matthew Greenberg, by a Stamford police investigator. Author Irvin Muchnick acquired the video after appealing to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission the refusal of the police to release it. Muchnick comments on this entire episode on his blog, [ Ссылка ], and in a chapter of his book, CHRIS & NANCY: The True Story of the Benoit Murder-Suicide and Pro Wrestling's Cocktail of Death.
