My father and I partake on an adventure up into British Columbia's beautiful Rocky Mountains for an overnight camping trip.
The beginning of our journey started out rough. After driving up and down the valley bottoms for hours on end, we finally realized that the mountain we had planned to climb was inaccessible, due to unforeseen obstacles, some being washed out bridges or impassable roads. After some discussion, we ended up betting all of our odds on our only backup mountain. The mountain was not too far away from where we originally planned to climb, but it was now kilometers away from where we had ended up. Luckily after all our effort, we were met with an accessible road up the mountain. After driving up the dangerously overgrown mountain road in the night, with steep drops less than a foot away from the tires at times, we made it to our camping spot, and had ourselves our first night of our trip in the Rocky Mountains. The next morning, with a sleepless night behind us, we started off on our tramp up into the mountains. The following footage is a documentation of our adventure.
This video was a mix of doubt, belief, disappointment, excitement, sleep deprivation, and sheer determination. The amount of time and effort put into this trip was like no other video I have filmed. This was not the "walk in the woods" like some of my other videos. We were pushed too our limits by the mountain, and then pushed beyond by the recording of the adventure. Setting up more than 200 individual shots well climbing a mountain with only 4 hours of sleep is not an easy task. As a result of this, I will be keeping this trip and it's documentation close to my heart, and as a memory of my personal victory. I hope you enjoy the finished product as much as I do.
Enjoy the silent adventure!
