Just before 5:40pm EDT on Tuesday June 21st, 2022, a RED Air jet arriving on runway 9 at MIA had equipment failure on landing. Aircraft undercarriage appeared to collapse and the plane caught fire. Airport emergency services raced to the scene as passengers escaped down chutes and ran across the field.
