I love the artistic and historical workmanship of vintage kimonos. 🎨 The hand painted, hand embroidered Japanese silk kimonos are my favorites. I began to use vintage kimono fabrics to create special occasion bustiers and dresses around the time of my 2006
🚨“Sirens of Spring” fashion show during LA Fashion Week and showed them on the runway in this collection. I hand beaded the bustiers with a combination of glass and semiprecious beads for these one of a kind looks.
Working in this way is historically my thing. I call it my head-heart-hand connection. ❤️
Let’s create some art together with @wandawensoolip and me this weekend!
Join us on March 11 @soolip_ for an in-person creative stitching workshop.
