In this week's Friday Value Video (FVV), Eileen looks at the all-important connection between fiber and weight loss. So, can fiber help you lose weight? Studies have shown that fiber intake is a predictor of weight loss, independent of the intake of calories and other macronutrients like protein. Weight loss was found to increase as fiber intake increased, especially fruits and vegetables. Not only did participants lose weight, but they felt fuller longer which is especially important if you're trying to lose weight. These findings suggest a high-fiber diet consisting of whole foods can be an effective tool in your weight loss journey.
