7 Best Fishing Knots Every Good Fisherman Should Know!
Captain Cody shows the seven best fishing knots. These are the most important knots that every good fisherman, deckhand, and charter captain should know how to tie.
The knots are shown using a bright parachute cord to make a clear example of each knot.
1:08 The uni knot is the easiest knot to tie and works great in most cases.
1:42 The double uni knot is the easiest way to tie two lines together. This is typically done when connecting mono to braided fishing line.
3:04 The Palomar knot is the strongest knot that is quick to tie. The line is double up with makes it stronger than the uni knot. If there is a long leader the Palomar knot can not always be used.
4:28 The perfection loop is a quick and strong way to make a loop in the line, This can work well to quickly connect to a swivel when trolling without having to use a barrel swivel.
4:50 The dropper loop is commonly used to make bottom fishing rigs. This way two or more hooks can be added above any size fishing weight.
5:56 The haywire twist is used to connect a wire to hooks and swivels.
13:50 The Albright knot is used to tie wire to mono. This makes a sleek profile and is needed when making daisy chains for trolling on the reef where there are lots of fish with sharp teeth.
