BUY MY UNDERTALE ALBUMS: [ Ссылка ]
"Adventures Down Below" is a MIDI art montage based on Toby Fox's Undertale. I attempt to retell the story of Undertale using only MIDI notes in what resulted in a epic, panorama of a mural.
MIDI Art has become an obsession for me recently. This is my biggest MIDI Art creation yet and I hope you like it.
Even though I wanted a fully colored MIDI artwork, I could only use 16 fixed colors because of the software limitation itself. Logic Pro X is of course a standard software in the music industry today but it's not really meant to create intricate pictures. But I came in pretty close and I'm happy with the result.
If you're looking for more inspiring MIDI art, check out the works of Mari Lesteberg, Andrew Huang and Savant!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION YOU SHOULD READ BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING:
Q: What program did you use?
A: Logic Pro X, an exclusive digital audio workstation (DAW) for Mac.
Q: What sound patch did you use?
A: A custom made sound using Alchemy, a built-in sound library within Logic.
Q: How long did you do this?
A: A week to think about, 3-4 days to actually draw, compose and edit.
Q: What is your background?
A: 20 years of professional music production for films, tv and ads. And 4 years at an exclusive arts high school as a visual arts student. I shifted to music during college and the rest is history.
Q: Why are some of the character's colors not accurate?
A: Because of the rigid coloring options with Logic Pro. I only had the choice of 16 fixed colors and I cannot customize them so I had to make use of the closest possible color. Logic is, after all, a program primarily used to for music making. The developers probably didn't predict that music artists such as Andrew Huang, Savant, Mari Lesteberg and now, me, would push "doodling in the piano roll" to new heights.
Q: I hear a bit of this or that character's theme music in this section or timestamp, are those intentional?
A: Of course it is. Those are called allusions. Musical allusions in this case. It's basically making the new music intentionally a sound-alike of the source material but still is technically original music. The only real direct musical quotes here are from the Spear of Justice in the Undyne section, the bassline of Death by Glamour on Metatton's legs and 2 bars of the ASGORE in the Asgore section. You are not hearing things. They are actually there. I made it that way.
Q: Oh, "allusions", so that's what they're called. Hey, why did you use allusions instead of using the original melodies? A: Because I can and I've already made full fledged covers of Undertale music which you can all watch here: [ Ссылка ]
