South African artist Zanele Muholi asserts agency of the self in an autobiographical show at Southern Guild, LA. Through powerful bronze sculptures and self-portraits, the work explores how individual and cultural trauma can be overcome and how art can spark discussions on education, anti-racism advocacy, and other important issues.
