One of my favorite writers has always been the English novelist Jane Austen.
In this video, I read a letter she wrote in 1809 to her sister Cassandra in which she describes in her usual biting wit and sarcasm the boredom of rural life in a small community.
With little happening around her, Jane comments on who is getting sick and who is recovering from lung disease, the weather, which domestic servants have been sacked, and even why cross-stitch is boring her to tears. She dreams of future journeys.

This letter for me typifies what I experience after six months of lockdown in Colombia due to the pandemic. Her words, as always, are beautiful. It was a pleasure to read and share them with you all.
Stay safe wherever you are right now.
Much love and peace,
Emma
