Making music is a lot like telling stories and stories have to be coherent.
In order to make our musical discourse coherent we need to plan ahead where we are going. This can be achieved by targeting notes.
There are notes that are safer than others, typically the chord tones. If we only use the scale (in this case the dorian mode) our improvisation is going to sound like we don't know where we are going because we are not outlining the chord changes.
On this video I will teach how to create a coherent solo by targeting the right notes.
