Five young girls with fathers serving in the Armed Forces have teamed up to record this year's official Poppy Appeal single
The five youngsters who make up the Poppy Girls, came together after a nationwide search for talent among Forces families, by the Royal British Legion.
Proceeds from their new single, "The Call (no need to say goodbye)," will go towards funding the Legion's charitable work, providing welfare for thousands of serving and ex-service personnel.
The group, Megan Adams, Florence Ransom, Alice Milburn, Bethany Davy and Charlotte Mellor have recorded the single, "The Call (no need to say goodbye)", originally by Regina Spektor.
"I think we can relate to it very easily, because all of our dads have gone away at some point or another.
"All the people in the military know what it's like, so it's great to share that feeling," explained Alice.
After a series of online auditions from over 1000 hopefuls, the final short list went into the studio for a gruelling selection process -- and The Poppy Girls were formed.
Since then, the group have been juggling school and college commitments with visits to the recording studio.
The Poppy Girls single "The Call (no need to say goodbye)" can be pre-ordered now on iTunes and goes on general sale on Remembrance Sunday itself: Sunday 10th November.
