In this video, I share exactly how much money you need to have invested in the stock market to live off of your dividends! Dividends are known as one of the purest forms of passive income that many people use to supplement their income, whether it be for retirement, paying expenses, or for leisure spending. Dividends are just cash distributions from a company’s profits paid to its shareholders – and this is the most direct way that a company can benefit you as the investor. So in order to earn dividend income, you don’t need to do anything other than owning a company’s stock that pays out regular dividends – it’s really that simple! Most dividend paying companies, like Johnson & Johnson for example, will pay out quarterly dividends – meaning you will consistently receive a dividend payment every 3 months. But there are companies that will actually pay out monthly dividends, like Realty Income, or even semi-annual dividends in some cases, like Disney before they suspended their dividend in 2020, but these ones are quite rare.

Overall, dividend investing can be a very lucrative way to earn passive income and support your lifestyle simply through investing in dividend growth stocks. So how much do you need to invest to live off dividends? That's the question I'll be answering in today's video.
