In the Kingdom Hearts series, we've learned of three different types of keyblades, light, darkness and heart. The keyblade of heart is capable of not only unlocking one's heart, but also unlock the door to darkness where Kingdom Hearts lies. The X-blade according to Xehanort, is different from all three categories.
