Two blue minerals, Azurite and Lazulite, named similarly. However, the similarities stop there. Azurite is a carbonate mineral associated with copper in volcanic regions and lazulite, also confused with lazuRite or Lapis Lazuli, is a phosphate mineral. I’ll talk more about all of these minerals individually and show comparisons between them soon. For today, I’ll just show a very quick way to tell the difference between these two minerals and it’s something you can also use for other blue minerals. If you’re just getting into Rockhounding and want to begin mineral collecting and Crystal hunting, I recommend watching my What is a Mineral video and checking out my Minerals Playlist and Rockhounding Playlist here at @LetsGoGeo
