At a press conference in Putrajaya today, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Umno acting president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had arranged for the meeting to show his support for the government.
"He called me... he wanted to see me because he wanted to support the government.
"He is welcome to support the government. He is (also) welcome to oppose the government as well. That's all," Mahathir said when quizzed about the meeting.
