I've been running Korean cooking class and food tour company in Seoul, Korea for the last 10 years.
I wanted to share my secret recipes which are both easy to make and delicious.

Gungjung-tteokbokki (Royal Stir-fried Rice cakes)
Ingredients
-Korean rice cakes 200g
-Beef brisket 100g
-Carrot 1/4
-Onion 1/2
-Green onion(spring onion) 2stalks

Beef marinade
-Garlic 1/2tsp
-Soy sauce 1tsp
-Brown sugar 1/4tsp
-Sesame oil 1/4tsp
-Black pepper to taste

Sauce for Teokbokki
-Soy sauce 2Tbl
-Sesame oil 1/2tsp
-Ground black pepper to taste

Instruction
1. Julienne beef. Combine marinade ingredients and add beef to the sauce and mix them
2. Julienne carrot. Slice onion and cut green onion in a inch size
3. Heat up the pan, add cooking oil, and stir fry vegetables separately. Set aside.
4. In the same pan, add marinated beef and stir fry. Transfer the beef to the plate and set aside
5. Add rice cakes, 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and ground black pepper to the pan. Keep stirring until the rice cakes soften
6. Add cooked vegetables and beef back to the pan when rice cakes soften and the sauce has been reduced in almost half
7. Stir fry them, making sure they’re all well mixed. Sprinkle sesame oil and black pepper to the pan
8. Transfer tteokbokki to the pan and serve
